New Horizons starts its South India operations

New Horizons India, the joint venture between New Horizons Worldwide and Shriram Global Technologies, recently anno-unced the launch of its first IT training facility in South India. The new facility was inaugurated by Dr M S Thimmappa, vice chancellor of Bangalore University. The state of the art training centre has been set up in Bangalore and is expected to usher in global standards in IT training in the Silicon Valley of India.

As part of its growth strategy, New Horizons plans to set up 60 centres in South India over the next three years with an investment of over Rs 50 crore. The model adopted for setting up these centres involves building company-owned facilities in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, and franchisee owned facilities in key cities such as Coimbatore, Trichy, Madurai, Cochin, Trivandrum and Vishakapatnam.

Announcing the launch of New Horizons’ Bangalore facility, Ajay Sharma, president and chief executive officer of New Horizons India said, “Bangalore has established itself as the epicenter of the Indian IT industry and has played a key role in India’s emergence as a global IT superpower. Given the strategic importance of this region to India’s continued success in the IT arena, we have decided to open our second company- owned facility in Bangalore. We are confident that our world-class infrastructure and learning methodology will deliver value to IT professionals in the region and help equip them with a globally accepted IT training certification.”

It is understood that the Bangalore facility will help the company leverage its global leadership position in corporate training to provide customised programmes aimed at the enterprise and corporate market. In addition, New Horizons will also offer short-term partner certified courses for retail customers and highly specialised programmes on Java, Linux and .Net for the developer community.

New Horizons will also focus on the IT professional and developer audience by providing high-end training modules through short-term and long-term programmes in areas like Networking, Databases, Internet Technologies, Application Development, Multimedia and an entire range of security certification courses.

The courses will be offered at competitive prices.
