Red Hat launches training centre for open-source technologies in Mumbai

ITP News Network / Mumbai

Red Hat India, a subsidiary of Red Hat Inc, the world’s largest provider of open-source technologies including Linux, announced the launch of its training centre in Mumbai. This is the second training centre in India, the first being in Pune. The company plans to set up more centres in the next two years.

The centre will impart training to individual developers and system administrators and conduct corporate training as well. Apart from the regular courses offered, the RH300–Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) Rapid Track Training and Certification course has been introduced. It is designed for UNIX- and Linux-experienced users, networking specialists and system administrators. This five-day course provides intensive hands-on training on Red Hat Linux, and includes the RHCE Certification lab exam. With only a 40 percent pass rate per exam, Red Hat has lined up a rather intensive course for students.

Ideal candidates for the course include UNIX or Linux system administrators who have significant real-world experience with UNIX or Linux systems administration and some experience setting up key networking services such as HTTP, DNS, NIS, DHCP, and those who want a fast-track course to prepare for the RHCE exam.
