First batch of SSN students proceed to Carnegie Mellon

ITP News Network / Chennai

The SSN School of Advanced Software Engineering (SSN-SASE), announced that its first batch of students had successfully completed their courses, based on the Software Engineering curriculum of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), US. The students are proceeding in January to CMU for further studies towards a Masters degree with specialisation in Software Engineering (MS IT/SE).

This unique Masters degree programme is offered by SSNSASE in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon. The one and a half years programme constitutes one year of study at SSNSASE. Students qualifying for admission to Carnegie Mellon can continue further studies in the US at CMU for six months towards their Masters degree.

The admissions committee at Carnegie Mellon has accepted all the students from their first batch for admission. This demonstrates the caliber of these students, the capabilities of the excellent faculty at SSN and infrastructure facilities available at the school.

SSNSASE has been set up by the Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar Educational and Charitable Trust (SSNECT), founded by Shiv Nadar and late Justice Pratap Singh in honour of Nadar’s father. The Trust’s mission is to create, sustain and empower educational institutions specialising in computer sciences and provide quality education to the common man, at an affordable cost. SSNSASE is the third IT-focused institute run by the Trust, the other two being the SSN College of Engineering and the SSN School of Management and Computer Application.
