PeopleSoft has appointed Geoff Dickson as sales operations director Asia Pacific and Japan. The newly created role will focus on a number of key initiatives including driving an industry benchmark pre-sales organisation, the building of a Centre of Excellence, capability to support entry to new markets, and enhancing the sales organisation. Based in Sydney, Dickson joins PeopleSoft following more than 16 years experience at NCR Corporation, where he most recently held the position of vice president-marketing and alliances for the Teradata Division Asia Pacific. In his roles at NCR, Dickson was instrumental in aligning sales, alliances and marketing with opportunities in diverse markets such as Korea and China. Commenting on the appointment, Andrew Barkla, vice president Asia Pacific, PeopleSoft said, “PeopleSoft in Asia Pacific is focused upon execution excellence—in both our customer and sales engagements. Geoff brings strong experience in similar roles across the region and will be driving our operations to maintain its high standards of service delivery.”


Iomega Corporation, the global leader in portable data storage has appointed a new product manager, Wong Chuan Yong, for its Network Attached Storage (NAS) products in Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, Wong will be responsible for developing market and channel strategies aimed at meeting sales revenue and expanding Iomega’s NAS business in Asia Pacific. Wong brings with him over ten years of experience in the IT industry, including two years specialising in NAS products, having been the regional business development manager for Greater China and Australia/New Zealand at his previous employment. “With Chuan Yong onboard, we will be able to further bridge Iomega across from a consumer-focused organisation to one that addresses the storage needs of both consumers and the enterprise,” said Jim Payne, president/managing director, Asia Pacific at Iomega Pacific. “Chuan Yong’s extensive experience in NAS products is certainly an advantage to our team here in Asia Pacific.” Iomega also recently launched its network attached storage (NAS) file servers, tailored to the rapidly expanding storage needs of the small office/home office (SOHO), small to medium-sized business, and enterprise workgroups that deliver breakthrough pricing.


SQL Star International Ltd., an IT solutions corporation involved in providing solutions in the Internet space, software development and services and IT education, as part of its organisational restructuring has reshuffled its top officials. Brij Kumar Tankha, who was the Director - Finance, has now taken over as the new Managing Director of the company. Pradeep Shenoy has been appointed CEO (global operations). He was earlier the Director of US operations.
