HCL
Technologies (Mumbai, formerly Gulf Computers), has been assessed
at SW-CMM Level 5 recently. Rajiv Shetye, the lead assessor authorised
by the Software Engineering Institute Carnegie Mellon University,
Pittsburgh, USA, led a six member assessment team.
The
team conducted in-depth interviews of 31 employees in different
functional areas besides examining approximately 250 documents.
They also examined the software development processes to assess
the reliability of the development services and measure improvement
in capability since the last assessment.
Recalling
the words of executive director P P Balagopalan during the party
to celebrate this achievement, Wg Cdr Naresh Taneja, head HR, said,
“This journey is never ending and there are no stops on the
way to the journey of quality. What keeps us going forward is the
professional pride in what we do and the satisfaction of our customers
in the projects we execute ...”
