Tata
Infotech Education has launched the first Tata Infotech Certified
Networking Engineer Programme (TCNE) for networking professionals.
The company is eyeing the fast growing network integration market
and plans to create high-end skilled resources that can service
this sector with the introduction of the TCNE programme.
Rahul
Thapan, head-education services division, Tata Infotech, said, As
the investment in hardware and networking infrastructure increases
at an exponential rate, there is a continuous need for quality people
to integrate and maintain it. Business across the world is differentiating
itself from the competition by allowing 7 X 24 X 365 access to applications
and services to its customers. This has spurred the requirement
for quality people with skills in high-end hardware and networks,
as well as customer orientation. Our course is designed to fulfill
this requirement.
The network integration market in India has grown from Rs 550 crore
in 1998-99 to Rs 1,675 in 2000-2001. The market is growing at an
estimated rate of over 60 percent. This growth is on account of
networks being implemented now at a national level and has spurred
a demand for high-end quality resources. Tata Infotech has been
involved in implementing some of these large networks including
the statewide projects in Mahara-shtra, Kerala and Karnataka for
BSNL to support the national Internet backbone.
The
TCNE course is a high-powered course consisting of core networking
modules and capped by specialisations and leading to certifications
like A+, MCSE 2000, CCNA 2.0 and Sun Solaris. This networking programme,
which has been developed in consultation with experts of Customer
Support and Services (CSS) department of Tata Infotech leads to
four international vendor certifications from CISCO, SUN, Microsoft
and CompTIA. This 380 hour TCNE program is being offered to the
students at a cost of RS 50,000 along with bank loans from ABN-AMRO
at 0 percent interest.
Once
the student completes the course, Tata Infotech Education will provide
placement assistance through its ProfilesIT initiative.
