Jaithirth (Jerry) Rao, chairman and chief executive officer, Mphasis BFL, has been appointed to the executive council of Nasscom. Kiran Karnik, president, Nasscom said, “We are delighted to have Jerry as a new member of Nasscom’s executive council, Rao’s vast experience in international markets and understanding of the IT market will contribute a great deal in realising Nasscom’s vision. Rao has been in this industry for the past two decades and we strongly believe his expertise and leadership skills will be of immense value to Nasscom.” Speaking on his appointment, Jerry Rao, said, “It is indeed an honour to serve on the executive council of the nation’s premier IT association. The task ahead of us at Nasscom is challenging and exciting in the present environment. My endeavour will be to assist Kiran and Arun in order to continue our focus on exports growth and also develop a strong domestic market. With its inherent strengths and built in capabilities, I believe that the Indian software and service industry is poised to witness significant growth in the days ahead.”


JobStreet.com announced the appointment of John Smith as country sales manager for India. In his capacity John will oversee the sales related activities for all regions in India. “Our sales force have been wholly responsible and instrumental in establishing JobStreet’s credibility as a leading e-recruitment portal with the best clients in India. With John now heading this sales force, we are sure that the whole sales process and will attain new heights of performance,” said N Muralidharan, managing director and vice president, JobStreet.com. “JobStreet.com has established a strong presence in the niche top-level corporate segment in India. We will be looking at further expanding our reach into newer market segments besides enhancing the performance of our current sales force across regions,” said John on being appointed country sales manager, JobStreet.com India. John brings over 12 years of experience in sales and marketing. He began his career in Modi Xerox in the sales department. He then moved to RICOH and was later with BPL.


Monsterindia.com announced the appointment of Arun Tadanki as country manager for India. In the role of country manager, Arun will be responsible for the entire operations of Monster in India and will report into Monster Asia Pacific headquarters in Sydney. A graduate from IIT Madras with an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, he started his career with the Swiss multinational company Nestle, where he worked for eight years. Between 2002 and 2002, prior to joining Monster, Arun was with Jobsahead.com as head of sales and marketing. On his new assignment, Arun Tadanki said, “I am simply delighted to be a part of an exciting organisation like Monster. The challenge of replicating in India, the enormous success of Monster globally, is exciting.” Welcoming Arun on board, Libby Christie, president of Monster, Asia Pacific, said, “It is indeed a pleasure to have Arun lead the Monster business in India. Arun has a deep understanding of the Indian market along with excellent knowledge of e-recruitment business, and has experience in managing large businesses successfully.”
