The
Bombay Management Association (BMA) has set up a Centre for Excellence
in e-Learning, in association with Aptech Training. The inauguration
was done by Prof A K De, former director, IIT Bombay. The inaugural
programme focused on eLearning: the Tool for Competitive Advantage,
and was attended by many BMA members.
Speaking
on the occasion Pramod Khera, managing director, Aptech Training,
highlighted on the need for e-learning in an organisation and how
to make it pay. Lydia Lobo, CTO-Strategic Initiatives, Aptech Training,
spoke about the technology, architecture and framework. She also
pointed out that repurposing of existing content is essential for
starting an e-learning initiative.
Bhaskar
K Mookerjee, channel manager-India, Thomson Learning, gave a presentation
on the global scenario and trends in e-learning. It is necessary
for learning organisations to trap information and ensure that it
stays. It is also called intellectual capital in the western market.
