Team Wipro, Round Table India reconstruct schools in Gujarat

ITP News Network / Bangalore

Team Wipro and Round Table India have rebuilt ten schools in the earthquake hit parts of Gujarat, thus enabling 3,095 students to attend a proper school. It may be recalled that after the devastating earthquake in Gujarat on January 26, 2001, Wiproites across the corporation had donated money for providing relief to the victims. Wipro had made a matching contribution and had undertaken the task of utilising this money in a meaningful way.

Till date, an amount of Rs 50 lakh has been spent on reconstructing ten schools that were completely destroyed in Ahmedabad, Baroda and Surat, through local Round Tables.

Wipro has involved another voluntary agency called Saraswatam to do repair work in schools in Kutch and Surendar Nagar areas.
