Polaris Software Lab announced the induction of two leading names from the banking and technology domains into its leadership team. Harpal Dugal is joining as director-strategic initiatives and Suren Khirwadkar is joining as director-marketing and sales. Speaking on this induction, Arun Jain, chairman and CEO, Polaris Software Lab, said, “In the last 15 months, Polaris has transformed itself from ‘servicing’ the demand to ‘creating’ the demand in the global marketplace. We prepared ourselves for the next growth orbit shift by re-designing the organisational DNA and mapping the organisation’s needs with the global scenario. With Harpal and Suren coming on board, Polaris now has the best leadership in place to steer it onto the next platform of growth.” Harpal Dugal who was, till recently, the chief executive officer of Standard Chartered and head of the customer banking business for the Standard Chartered group, brings with him global expertise across banking domains. Harpal held several positions of responsibility with Citibank, from 1980 through to 1997. He holds an MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad. Suren Khirwadkar headed Citibank’s business in Saudi Arabia where he was the country marketing director and consumer assets business manager. Suren comes with extensive marketing and sales experience from leading FMCG companies. He joined Citibank in 1988. Suren holds a Master’s Degree from North Western University, US.

Citrix Systems announced the appointment of Dennis Rose as area vice president for the company’s newly established Asia region, aimed at reinforcing Citrix’s commitment to the fast growing region. Rose’s appointment to the newly created position further fortifies Citrix’s leading position in the application server technology market with strengthened management for the flourishing Asia Pacific region. The appointment of a vice president for Asia comes at a time when Citrix is undergoing an expansion of its operations due to the mushrooming of interest in server-based technlogy in the Pacific region, including Asia, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Rose will be based in Hong Kong.
