Tata Infotech launches networking programmes

Joy Roy Choudhury/Kolkata

Tata Infotech Education recently announced the launch of the Tata Infotech Networking Professional Programming (TINP). The course is targeted at aspiring professionals in the telecom, networking and IT enabled space. This programme leads to three global certifications in networking from IT majors.

The company has also launched Tata Infotech’s Application Developer (TIAD) and Database Administrator (TDBA) programmes in Kolkata. These programmes lead to two global certifications from Oracle Corporation. The company plans to create high-end Database Management skilled resources through the introduction of these programmes.

Apart from Kolkata, the new courses were launched in Patna and Ranchi. It would be subsequently introduced in other parts of the country. Talking to IT People, Rahul Thapan, head-education services division, said, “With the telecommunication market opening up, many companies plan to invest in the development of network infrastructure in the country. This in turn will fuel investment in hardware and networking equipment, which will spur the demand for quality human resources to integrate and maintain it.”

He said that TINP would concentrate on hands-on training in computers, in addition to classroom teaching. It would be organising ‘Profiles IT’, an interactive seminar to help the students get placed. The courses would be available through a chain of exclusive centres across the country, under the ‘Ambition’ umbrella. At present, Tata Infotech has 315 centres in India and plans to increase the number to 500 by March 2003. The education division has also decided to foray into the corporate training segment in a big way.
