Tata
Infotech Education recently announced the launch of the Tata Infotech
Networking Professional Programming (TINP). The course is targeted
at aspiring professionals in the telecom, networking and IT enabled
space. This programme leads to three global certifications in networking
from IT majors.
The
company has also launched Tata Infotechs Application Developer
(TIAD) and Database Administrator (TDBA) programmes in Kolkata.
These programmes lead to two global certifications from Oracle Corporation.
The company plans to create high-end Database Management skilled
resources through the introduction of these programmes.
Apart
from Kolkata, the new courses were launched in Patna and Ranchi.
It would be subsequently introduced in other parts of the country.
Talking to IT People, Rahul Thapan, head-education services division,
said, With the telecommunication market opening up, many companies
plan to invest in the development of network infrastructure in the
country. This in turn will fuel investment in hardware and networking
equipment, which will spur the demand for quality human resources
to integrate and maintain it.
He
said that TINP would concentrate on hands-on training in computers,
in addition to classroom teaching. It would be organising Profiles
IT, an interactive seminar to help the students get placed.
The courses would be available through a chain of exclusive centres
across the country, under the Ambition umbrella. At
present, Tata Infotech has 315 centres in India and plans to increase
the number to 500 by March 2003. The education division has also
decided to foray into the corporate training segment in a big way.
