Sniffer Tech scouts for IT education partner

Sriikanth RP / Mumbai

If you look at the major reasons why software product companies like Microsoft are so successfulyou will find that the aggressive marketing strategy is backed up by a focused approach on educating people about their technologies. Sniffer Technologies, a division of Network Associates, too is thinking on the same lines and has plans of identifying training partners in India who have a large presence across the country.

Says Rich Baich, senior director, Worldwide Education Services, Sniffer Technologies, “Though we have a extremely successful product in Sniffer, there is a lack of trained professionals available in the country today. Hence we feel there is a need for us to tie up with a specialised training institute which would ensure availability of skill sets.

The Sniffer Certified Professional Programme (SCCP) will ensure that companies will have trained professionals to ensure maximum uptime of their network.” For the uninformed, Sniffer is a network management tool, which monitors network traffic and collects key statistics allowing network managers to extract and view vital information to troubleshoot and manage networks.

Sniffer has already initiated talks with major IT training institutes in India and proposes to offer its courses by the second half of this year. The IT certification programme for network management, which was developed in collaboration with Sniffer University, has been created to educate network professionals in Sniffer and equip them with hands on experience in real world environments.
