The
Worldwide Immigration Consultancy Services (WWICS), has successfully
ventured into IT education in India by setting up The Canadian Institute
of Computer Science and Technology (CICST) in Mohali. CICST is the
extension campus of Georgian College, Barrie, Ontario, and the third
largest community college in Canada. The institute already has 240
students enrolled for the Computer Programmer Analyst course.
Through
CICST, students can avail the benefits of North American education
right here in India. The fee for the course is 25% of the expenses
as compared to education in Canada. A Canadian degree also brings
with it advantages of hands-on work experience plus exposure to
good jobs. CICST students also benefit from the latest North American
teaching methods and facilities. A diploma with global recognition
from Georgian College, Canada, is an added advantage. Students willing

also have a transfer option to Canadian campus after one or more
years of study.
The
faculty of CICST is a mix of Canadians and Indians. The CICST campus
has a wide range of facilities and services including well-equipped
computer laboratories, housing and audio-visual centres. The advantages
of studying in CICST are manifold. Besides the cost factor, if a
student migrates to the United States or Canada, credits earned
would be transferred to any college in these two countries.
Raman
Gill, a second year computer programmer analyst student, says, I
could not have made a better choice for further studies after 10+2.
The teaching methods of the Canadians are fantastic and the faculty
treats us more like friends and we can ask them anything without
hesitation. More importantly they respect us and treat us as individuals.
Gurcharan
Singh, another 2nd year CPA student holds the same opinion. I
am really looking forward to the remaining semesters. For once the
joy of learning now exceeds all my other interests. CICST is the
best thing that happened to me.
At
its first anniversary celebrations in September 2001, CICST was
awarded the ISO 9000:2001 certificate. This is perhaps the only
information technology institute to have acquired this certificate
within just one year of its operation. The programme director, Geoffrey
Dalton, says, CICST was started with the stated objective
of providing a centre of excellence in the field of computer education.
We are happy that all our objectives have been met.
WWICS
is considered to be the most trusted Canadian Immigration and Settlement
Company since 1993, and has established a rapport over the years
with Canadian lawmakers and immigration authorities. With all the
immigration formalities in place, the CICST certified students are
sure of a definite edge in the global IT job market.
